R4 GTL Gearbox

Anyone need a gearbox? Came out an '85 GTL (I think?)? And I was planning on putting it in my van. Anyway, I'm not doing that now so it's surplus to requirements.

All works ok to best of my knowledge and all that.

Well I'll try and help but the last number is obscured.
I think that the rounded shape of the number excludes the
following suffixes; 1,4and 7

So according to my book the following are possible
Suffix. Oval Plate Number Final Drive

140. Not found in my book
142. 1221/1391/2381 8/33
143. 1220/1221/1391/2381 8/33
145. Not found in my book
146. 1128/210B 10/31
148. 1224/1227/1397 10/31
149. 1226/1396 8/29

If you can carefully clean that last number you have all the information to identify the gear box.
Equally you can turn the input shaft and count the number of turns needed to rotate the output shaft 360 degrees.

My book also gives the individual internal ratios for the 4 forward gears and reverse.

Hi Lobster just wondered if you still have 85 GTL gearbox for sale ?
As my 1983 F6 van neads a little breathing space trying to do a safe Comfortable speed
When mixing it with the motorway traffic. Thank you.
