yes my bottom hinge was more corroded than the top, but some WD40 and a wiggle and eventually came off, 1987 also :-)

Mine had a nut on the bottom hinge, undid that and little bit of WD40 swing it backwards and forwards as you lift it and off it came :-)

Hi, there's usually another wire connection about 12 inches from the single wire that comes from the stater on the nearside bottom bulkhead, check there as that might have come lose or disconnected :-)

Hi, i assume that it has a hand brake operating on the front wheels, if so there should one fitted either side on the chassis just inside at the front, if memory serves me right it fits to one of the bumper bracket bolts.

Hi Tom, ask Pete measure first as the F6 is longer with an extension from the end of the chassis, and it also has a longer nearside section that goes all the way to the axle bolt, don't think it will fit without modifying. ( i had F6s ) now reburbishing an F4 :-)

Hi, ahh yes i remember :-) no unfortunately it needs to be one from the 1980s GTL type like this one :-) but i will keep that in mind as i do have a 70s one that needs work later, do you have a speedo with the dash as well ? bobble
