interesting car given its age, could you post some more pictures of the body?

    hello any help please?

The bigger drums were common on some models like the Spanish ones (mountaineous areas) and the Fourgonnettes (heavy loads), so yes, you could swap them.

    1972 R4L FASA Coolant pressure

I don´t see how changing the overflow bottle could cause any major problems. As far as my knowledge concerns, the change from glass to plastic for model year 1978 was not accompanied by any major changes in the engine (not in the least for Spain, there the only engine was the 852cc Sierra...

    what year .

In Spain the door hinges were changed for the same model year (1982) as all other countries, as is well visible in all brochures and PR-books. See, for Spain, the brochures for the relevant years at http://allez-y.info/fasa_brochures.html or the page showing most cosmetic changes at...

    R1129-what is it?

Hi, having had the same question I ran into this ancient topic, and, in addition to what Castorlex already said, I can confirm that the 1129 was exclusively for the Colombian market. PR1105 provides the ultimate proof on page 05.41, where the 1129 is linked to country code 589 being Colombia...

Spanish Spec cars L , TL , etc

In Spain the GTL was never produced, and not sold there until 1990 (Slovakian import). Between 1964 and 1990 all models were produced according to local specs in Valladolid. See http://allez-y.info/fasa_dating.html for the model and equipment changes. Dashboard was changed for model year 1983...

    Model |Year Differences

Rather a lot appears to be either optional (fog light, reverse light, safety belts, head rests), country-specific (colour of indicator lights), or model-specific (especially for the chrome parts and emblems). I don't know about the glass bottles for brake (used to be metal for the first few...

    Model |Year Differences

You could have a look here: www.allez-y.info/dating.html As was mentioned before, there are a lot of country-specific details regarding engines, indicator lights etc. (especially valid for Spain), but generally the information on allez-y.info is correct.

    Help with a Photo

Hi Tony, here's the detail at 600 dpi but I fear it is not a big help. The R4 in front is model 1973. Regards, Hans (www.allez-y.info)

    Info on R codes

Mike, it is not the 2103 you were mentioning on Car&Classic is it? That is an 2108SA for sure, very much like the one listed a few pages back (which I bought a couple of months ago) Will you post some pics pleeeease? I'd like to see the oval plate! According to Bram, the 2103 is mentioned in...

    Movie R4 introduction Camargue 1961

Official presentation of the new Renault 4 in the Camargue A film by the Renault Film Department (yes that existed!). The part about R4 starts at 19'55", really spectacular IMHO! If you like the soundtrack (specially composed for this film), it's an old-fashioned EP frequently offered on ebay...

    Info on R codes

Elevated Fourgonnettes were produced in Spain and exported to France. For instance, the french 1973 brochure shows a 'sûrelevée' left of '1973', with the rectangular bumper clearly visible. Ordinary french Fourgonnettes have a tubular rear bumper.

    Info on R codes

Hi Maximobandit, that is indeed a surprise! Could you post a photo of the interior? What age is your van? It is an R2108SA I suppose? And the engine is a 813-02? Best regards Hanz

David, these observations of your van ask for a photo to be submitted! By the way, this is the elevated F6 (which didn't exist until 1976): Hans

    Info on R codes

To my knowledge, the indicators were orange in UK and Germany, white in other countries. Until this morning I thought that all spanish Furgonetas until 1979 were R2108, but I just received the 1969 PR785 FASA parts manual, which doesn't list them, but just R2104 and R1123. So, this also adds to...

    Info on R codes

Elevated roof here is one of an R2108SA from Barcelona. Note the R8-bumper and R8-indicator lights that were standard to R1125 and R2108. Cheers, Hans

    Hello from Spain

Hi there, indeed there are a lot of minor differences between the R1123/R1126 and the R1125, in fact to many to list them here. In case anyone might be interested, I compiled a list of what I know, plus photos of my own R1125, on my website www.allez-y.info under 'FASA R1125'. Prior to 1968...
