Rear Suspension unit for later model.

Been to the garage, a plan is afoot. Firstly new electronic ignition and two new tyres, then MOT. While the work for the MOT is being undertaken, we will see if we can adjust the rear swingarm. If not, we will replace when we get a suitable one here. The good news is that it will be back on the...

Oh damn! I might do something stupid tomorrow!

I have an identical one in Spain, but much more beaten up. Has the best designed front passenger seat that not only tips forward to get access into the rear (has a removeable rear bench seat, thus a true estate/van), but can also fold up into the footwell allowing even more access. I am afraid...

Rear Suspension unit for later model.

I will go to the garage tomorrow. The wheel really tows inwards vertically. He feels the casting is bent, but ....??? However I will see if we can get it back on the ramp and have a look. We have several manuals, and there is always Youtube.

Rear Suspension unit for later model.

The first one I have looked at, but it is the same as I already have, front handbrake set up. I have also looked on Leboncoin, and there are several. The best is in Perpignan. However I can't get on to register on Leboncoin, as they don't accept UK telephones. I even tried pitting in a Spanish...

    Rear swing arm

Hi Chris. How did you get on with sourcing a new rear axle? I have had problems with rear tyre wear, and it now transpires the swing arm is bent. I do happen to have another set, but it is for the earlier models with the front handbrake set up. So I am on the same hunt as you were.

Rear Suspension unit for later model.

I am looking for a complete rear suspension unit for my 1980 F4 van. It has been off the road for over 4 years now. It is now in my local garage, and we have discovered that the rear Rt swing arm is bent. This is a casting, and essentially will be impossible to straighten out. It will easiest to...

Hinges for top section rear flap on f4 van

They are both the same. To take the "Girafon" off, it is simply opened fully and moved to the right. It is only held in place securely when it is in fact shut. I nearly lost mine once while driving with it open. (carrying a long article).

    R4 rolling shell.

I don't have any room for the shell as such, unless it is at the end of the road and nobody wants it for anything. Then it sadly will go to scrap. I have a Rt hand dash, and the speedo etc, so they can go to someone else. Please pm me regarding a price so that we can confirm it as a purchase...

    Various small parts please

What sort of wheels are you after? Classic van wheels with solid centres or standard wheels that take hub caps?

    R4 rolling shell.

Hi. I would be interested in the steering rack and column. Cheers Tim

Towing with an R4 GTL - input welcome

I think my F4 behaves better towing a small trailer that is well loaded, than just carrying its max weight, or what I put in it , which is probably more than it should be.

    Help required n Colchester

I know a mechanic in Ipswich that specialises in Citroeon 2CV's, but he also sorts my R4 out for MOT's. I would thoroughly recommend him, and he is very local to her. You can PM me if she would like his address and phone number.

    just mentioning it...

It's funny you should mention that. I have had months of problems starting my van. It was obvious the carb bowl was emptying of fuel over a 24 hr period. I was having to pour neat petrol down the carb maybe more than once to get it to run continually. However I took it in to my local French car...

A little something for the weekend ....

You need an existing rear cam cover, or weld a plate over the hole for the hydraulic drive. If I can remember rightly, the hydraulic drive just bolts to the camshaft drive cog. Yes you will need a flywheel, but it just fits as the original. I put one of these into my F6 in Spain and it runs so...

    A Thank You

So glad you are keeping the F4. Just so useful as well as being fun to drive.

Plans Scrapped Renault 4 engine now not needed

Then the £20.00 one would probably fit the bill. P.M me if you are interested.

    Complete R4GTL for peaces

I am looking for a front door restraining strap. The 'Taramtana' (Mistral in Catalonia) did mine in and bent the door hinges at the same time. The other silly little bits are the fixing screws for the plastic air vent below the front windscreen and any spare clips for the inner door panels plus...

Plans Scrapped Renault 4 engine now not needed

I have 3. But they are all 1095cc. Two of them are brand new unused, but were made for a Ransomes mower. I put one in my F6 van in Spain. Minor modifications were required, and very stiff to start, but now running beautifully and far more economical than the original one. Don't have carbs...
