You need to look down the back of the engine to see if the engine timing cover is touching the lower lip on the bulkhead where it meets the chassis. The one i had i jacked up the engine and made spacers for the engine mountings to lift...

Chassis needed a lot of welding . colour change done .

This vehicle has been stripped and has had major chassis work. The body shell has been welded up with new A panels and front wings. Also painted back to the original white. Now painted in original Renault livery and is being used as the service vehicle for Renault Reborn.

On a UK R5 the bottom of the gear lever has two bushes to take the play out of the gear lever.

The Mk1 Renault 5 has the same gear change bush on the side of the gearbox and on the bottom of the floor change gear leaver it has the smaller bushes. It might be a kit for the type of gearbox not the car. The small bushes fit the Renault 12 gear leaver as well.

I have a 1987 van the same type number as you have. It was a Paris Post Van, the badge on the back door reads RENAULT4 F4. They have the 1100cc engine and front brake discs like our 1987 GTL but they have the early smaller body. I think these were still produced in France along side the F6 Van...

I think you need to look at the steering column, The column is bolted to the bulkhead two security bolt at the top and one 10mm nut at the bottom near the brake pedal box, The column bracket fractures just above the bottom nut and lets the column move up and down.
