I've been giving the engine bay on my 91 Savanna a good clean, prior to going back on the road. First run today and dash temp. Light is on (fan Not kicked in). anything obvious that I could have dislodged or slackened. I would be grateful for any suggestions.

Well mine don’t, after much correspondence with Andrew last year I couldn’t get them to work without the ignition. Fine with ignition switched on. spent all morning trying to sort out why, still no further forward, MOT soon!

Could you try something for me please, do the hazard lights work without the ignition switched on?

Got mine from Europarts a few years back but should still be possible. Not expensive.JJ

I’ve had switch out cleaned everything and reassembled, it works as it should on the bench and when fitted back in socket/holder in the car. Replaced the flasher unit. Still will not operate hazards on live power alone but does with switched ignition. What puzzles me is that the same wire out...

Andrew, I’ve just had a poke around and it appears I have live into the switch and ignition switched live. The ignition live works the hazards, but not the live feed. I’ ve cleaned all the crud out inside the switch and I’m fairly certain that it’s not the switch itself that’s not functioning...

Very kind thought and certainly one which I would have taken up. I used to teach a lad who trained as auto electrician, I will search him out. Incidentally I also taught the MOT guy and I don’t think he appreciated my help.

Overzealous MOT tester today failed my R4 Savanne 1991, because hazard warning lights only work with ignition switched on. Is he right? I have live, to unswitched feed into hazard switch, but without the ignition on, indicators won’t work. The ignition has to be on. My best guess is that perhaps...
