My mot station was not happy that they couldn’t make out the numbers on my chassis because ide put so much heavy marine primer on it before painting !

A cheaper way around this is to take your old screen or a template of it into any decent glazier that stocks 6.4 laminate and he will be able to cut it no problem. Also ask if he can chamfer the edges enough to take away the sharpness of the cut.

Do a a template of the screen opening, then reduce for the seal then reduce 2mm for the cutter and ask a glazier to cut one in 6.4 laminate

I think I have bits like carb, inlet manifold, filter housing etc if you need

I know this might sound daft but I don’t suppose you have left another filter seal on the engine therefore have two seals on it !!

My wee R4 not very good at this ! Hope it works.

Our 18 and 16 year old granddaughters are up for a wee holiday at the moment. When the oldest saw my R4 in the garage she immediately said 'oh grampa when did you get the taxi' I thought she was joking first but no she was serious :laughing: In her defence it does look almost black.

My tried and tested way is (as many do) is get a piece of cardboard the size or bigger than the head and push the valves through the cardboard in the order and position that they came from in the head, that way they go back as they came out.

Certainly will be interesting to see the end result, it would be nice if you left its reg plate on it somewhere then all the people that owned it in its previous life could associate with it.
