    No cabin heat

I’ve checked for airlock. None. There is some warmth on the floor but it goes cold on the demist setting. Is it possible to shut off the air completely as I’d rather have no air than cold feet!

Just got the R4 out the barn after 8 months. Took an hour to clear the brambles to get to her Started on 4th spin! But after a 30 min drive to town and back, no warmth in cabin Thermostat stuck closed?

    What do these things do?

I am afraid R4s do not seem to feature in breakers anymore :-( There is large garage near us visible from the motorway that specialises in old 2CVs and R4s etc and I hear the prices are not cheap! 15.36? Seems a lot for a knob but...thanks N

    What do these things do?

The device which changes air flow from up to down is the handle I really want, marked as 3 on the manual above

    What do these things do?

Interesting, sounds like the pre-flight checks for Concorde! Does anyone know where I might find Part 3, the handle for directing air up or down?

    What do these things do?

Hmm, when I operate the red one I get a massive air flow up the demisters! If I want cool outside air I lift the 'ashtray' lid in front of the steering wheel, there is another one on the passenger side and air comes out of that. I definitely need to find a knob for the heater flap

    What do these things do?

I don't drive the R4 all the time as it lives in France so I don't know what these do on the heater box The circled red bit seems to open and close a flap to divert air? The thing circled in yellow seems to have lost its handle? Very hard to move with my fingers, what does it do? Thx N

    Too rich

Thanks I was thinking of checking that, it's the idle jet of course, mind you that would not explain the need to run rich would it? I see a complete overhaul kit for this carb is about 30euros, I may get one

    Too rich

    Too rich

    Too rich

I find I now have to run with the choke out to run at all, even well warmed up. Ive had the air cleaner off to observe how much I can open the choke butterfly to let more air in before she stalls and it's not much at all. It's almost closed At the same time she dislikes clutch down when I...

    Ethanol fuel pipe

Ah well I have ordered some already, hope they are good. Mostly I will stick with E5 as I hear E10 melts solder in the carbs!

    Ethanol fuel pipe

I need to take over some modern pipe to France, to replace the old rubber, but I can't recall the diameter, does anyone know? I will of course be running E5 petrol as much as possible, but changing the fuel pipes to modern ones can do no harm. Are there any other rubber bits I should change? N
