Anti Roll Bar Bush Replacement

Hey All
I have ordered the replacement bushes for my R4 as the anti roll bar bushes have perished due to a previous oil leak, if I undo the roll bar is there any tension on it ? do I need to be careful when undoing the nuts from the wheel ends and underneath the car ? just asking in the name of safety

Hi, There is some tension on it but not as much to kick you in the teeth when you undo it.

Undo the bolts at the bottom end first. Then undo the bushes at the wheel end with a screwdriver. When the bar is of you can undo the bolts that hold the bushes at the wheel ends.

Re do the lot in reverse order.

Daft question time, new bushes have arrived, I take it that I need to slide the inner bushes on from each end, unlike modern cars where the bush is split to go over the roll bar.

Thank you, looks like it's a case of sliding the middle bushes on from either end.

Might be a daft question, can you remove the roll bar with the wheels on ? or do they need to be removed ?

Roll bar bushes all done in about 90 minutes, should keep the Mot tester happy
