Hi i have just bought a nice TL and got it running. Is it a good a idea to put an engine cleaning additive in the tank as it has been sat for two years

Hello Chris.
Better is to change the oil and a new oil filter...
And then change al the ignition stuf... spark plugs/cables, distribution cab/ rotor, contact breaking points, condensor. Set the valves and the timing... and look at the quality of your coolingwater... best is to change that to.

Mine had sat for a couple of years when I bought it and I had to drain the fuel out as it had "gone off".
I just disconnected the fuel line into the pump and put an air line into the fuel tank filler with a cloth around the filler neck to seal it and blew it all out........
I used distilled water for the cooling system and flushed it first and then refilled it as we get a lot of calcium build up when water boils here and didn't want the radiator core to block up.
