Hi does anyone know what the middle fuse is for (the one that's missing),and why it would keep blowing ?????,arghhhhh I hate electrics

Haven't had a chance to go out and check-it's freezing, but I seem to remember that it's the windscreen wipers

Do you have a Haynes manual or similar? That will say what the fuse is for.

Tracing the reason for fuses blowing can be a bit slow. The wiring diagram will show what is connected to the fuse. Check for a short to earth. Then unplugging bits one by one until the short disappears should tell you which circuit is the trouble.

Yes, correct. Off my F4van 1984 vintage.
My inexperience with R4 range meant I thought maybe relocated, or even extended, but of similar layout.
Hence the word "maybe"

With the ancient dashboard you have 4 fuses under the dashboard for lights and other 4 in the bonnet but I do not remember for what...
