Hi, the bonnet on my 4 GTL is jammed shut. When I press the button to open it nothing happens. I read on another thread about pushing the button and trying to release the catch but how do I get access to the catch to release the bonnet? Is it something I can do myself? TIA

Try to pull bonet while holding pressed button in cabin.
Probably spring fell of from bonet catch mehanizam.
Use pliers to return spring and to adjust metal catch where spring is attached.

Hello Moonpie
the spring has probably just popped out of its guide, It happens to me all the time.
Have you just tried to lift the bonnet up with your fingers. It should open.

Hi, I have but it doesn't seem to want to budge. I'll have another go tomorrow :)

Hi, thank you, I'll try this tomorrow :)

last resort is to use a long piece of solid string with a catch (hook) on it from underside behind motor try to get it to
catch on to the bonnet-release itself (not easy but with some fiddling it is possible) You need to get it to catch on the
front part of release then pull downwards.
I have mentioned it b4-when you get it opened drill a small hole in the upward pointing catch/"finger" then thread a wire through
fasten it and let other end dangle down with a loop on it so next time it happens you just poke a stick or something throught
the loop and pull down to have the bonnet pop up.
i have done this on Roffen and tested it and it works a treat! Reid.
