Hi guys,as Ethanol-mixed petrol is the norm by now (E5 and even E10) I strongly advice all of you to
change any/all petrol/fuel-hoses to new ones clearly marked as follows:

NBR-PET-CSM
Any of these two Preferred
FKM-PET-CSM
-----------------
DIN 73379 type E

ISO 4639 type 2
Alternatively Use any of these 4
SAE J 30 R7

SAE J 30 R9-11

-All of these approved for ethanol.Firsts 2 types approved for leisure-vessels so best of the best..
Beware that ALL others Will eventually start leaking, with danger of setting your car and/or garage
on fire!

The (ordinary) ones we used up till just a few years ago don't stand a chance with ethanol-
mixed petrol,so Please do yourself a favour to be safe!

I installed new ordinary petrol-hoses 2 years ago,we have E5 which I've tried to avoid best I could
but looking over my hoses i noticed they were rock-hard and cracked so new approved ones is on
its way to be installed asap. (I won't even use the car till then-overcausious? maybe-or maybe not.
Oh- and Don't listen to that dealer telling you the old types he want to get rid of first are all ok if new..
I've seen old stock put in front of E-approved ones on various dealers-shelves so Yes-it does happen!
This also gives a good clue if your dealer takes you as a customer serious.

It's funny you should mention that. I have had months of problems starting my van. It was obvious the carb bowl was emptying of fuel over a 24 hr period. I was having to pour neat petrol down the carb maybe more than once to get it to run continually. However I took it in to my local French car specialist for a pre-MOT check, and he discovered a minute leak in the rubber fuel pipe. So wise words are being written by Reid. It now starts brilliantly.

There were 2 leaks in mine when I got it too..all changed over but will do the rest after reading this ..thanks for the tip.

Thanks. We've noticed a petrol smell, but thought it was towards the rear (so to do with the tank or tank filler tube). But this suggests that we ought to get all the petrol hoses replaced. So thanks for the tip.
