And a little progress
IMG_3045.JPGIMG_3056.JPGFound some new old stock parts for under the petrol pump. Steel plate and the thick pertinax part that keeps the heat away from the pump

Pump bolted in placeIMG_3081.JPGThe right way to put the pump on
IMG_3075.JPGPutting the timing right. The round marking on the crankshaft lining up withe the marking on the camshaft sprocket. IMG_3077.JPGBrand new tensioner in place.

I didn't realize that there was a cork gasket on the timing chain cover, if I remember correctly, my 850 had a paper gasket

That is possible mojobaby.

Bigger engine C1E, also mine 688, has cork gasket.

harbourseal....it looks so nice and shiny.....so new.....i love it.

I am not sure that i have metal shim under fuel pump. Was that optional thing or standard?

@mojobaby it is not a cork gasket.
The material looks and feels like mdf but it isn’t.
On both sides it has a paper gasket. It really is a heat barrier and a spacer.
@petak if you have a two holes petrol pump you need the metal shim.
