A really neat and clean finish Jurjenz, are you going to be painting her yourself?

The reason I ask is that even though your weld looks smooth, it will be visible after painting unless you use some body filler.

I don't mean to interfere in your plans but it might save you some work later:)

Hi! I'm looking for a good company in the area who could paint the car. But at the moment, much of my attention is going to car, not to my searching

The areas I weld will need a filler to smooth things out. Primer is only a temporary protection because I first want to finish the welding tasks.

:waving:

What a pain in the &^*# to remove this rear plate :D

First I cleaned the outside, you can see the two areas which is rusted.

You're doing a brilliant job there Jerjenz, but all you Dutch guys seem to have huge workshops, and car lifts. I'm green with envy. I once restored and MGB GT in an 18x8 foot garage, now that was a pain!! But worth it in the end.

Thanks, we are very lucky that we have in our town such a place like this! My friend is also restoring a GT '71. Lovely car, but replacement parts are very expensive. :( Do you have some photos to share on your restoration?

Today, was 'little thingies to-do'

Yes parts can be expensive for an MG restoration, especially shipping them to Europe I guess, but, at least there's nothing you can't get for these lovely cars. Unfortunately I haven't any photos of the car I restored, it was back in the early 90s, so any pictures I did take have long since been mislaid. I replaced the sills and most of the floor, plus the front wings and valances. It took me five years but I did rebuild an early Mini during that time as well.
You're doing a great job Jurgenz, keep it up.

Nice job Jurjen, still going strong :clapping:
I can see many resemblances in bodywork repairs between our cars ;)

Yeah, again great pictures.
The original brazing technique on the hinges :D and the famous C-support just keep cutting :whistle:nice nice nice.
Will you use body cavity grease e.g. Mike Sander's to protect all cavities?

Oef, it was a long day, but the work is done. Now the other side is waiting, pfff

Nice job Jurjen, always good to see the progress and keep up the pace like they say "The longest mile is the last mile home".
But then, it's good to do a small sidestep on another project nice Piaggio Ciao :clapping:look's like a mid 1980's model.

It was time to flip the body over for easy acces on the bottom

I will use a replament panel because the original one has to much rust, also from the inside out - you can't acces that to clean it..
