Finally the engineshop finished the last piston & conrod! So I started working on re-assembling the engine.

Wow that new body really does look great . Check the seat belt bolt places and in particular the bottom corners of the boot opening. Time spent here will be worth it. It's going to be a fabulous restoration Yeah !

That is not the brake light switch it is a pressure drop warning indicator only used dual systems

Sorry never needed one it only connects to the red brake test switch on dash
New master cylinder has them fitted can't see you need it as pretty sure the brake pedal will tell you have a problem

WP_20161118_15_43_03_Pro.jpg WP_20161118_15_43_10_Pro.jpg Sometimes it is so much easier when s pair of extra hands is around to help ;) I was struggling with the clutch and gearbox to line up correctly. When it did, and was bolted together, I noticed I forgot the clutch lever, o no. Had do to it all over again

But after some struggle, it all fitted very well and the engine is back on the chassis!

I also did some work on the chassis parts: steering housing and radiator.

Question, where does this coolinghose connects to?
hose_zpsgk1xyiv5.jpg

Cheers!

That coolant hose is unusual. Possibly someone has added it for a heated base for the carburettor.

It is indeed a carburettor base heater hose.
On the engine head there's a small pipe. From there comes the connection to the carburettor base the hose on the T piece is connected to the carburettor to.

In the background on the right side of the engine head you an see the little pipe to connect to.

Thanks, didn't knew where to look for. Founded in the manual.

Ha ha well done ....Chopping up the old body and committing to the new one must feel good. S great step forward !
I notice you have attached a bar of wood across the inner wings. I did just the same and it's a good idea to keep it like that for as long as you can especially after painting as it stops the wings flexing and cracking near the bulkhead but I guess you knew that already my friend

I didn't knew, useful advise! The seller of the body attached the wooden bar - a clever idea!

Hi guys! It´s well over a month ago since my last update. I have been busy with holidays, work, friends & stuff. This week I'm off from work so I can do some work on the renault. Mostly it's now about the small stuff, adding new fuellines, finishing the brake lines, etc.

Today I placed the driveshafts and a new alternator.

Today I attached the fuel hose to the chassis, bought myself a little present: coolant vacuum kit, and I bought some rubber hoses for the carburator.

Jurjenz, Thanks for those excellent images which makes things far more understandable (to understand) without all of the tinware in place. Why the foam pipe wrap along the chassis? Presumably you'll be using much thinner foam when the time comes for the bodyshell to go on?
