Hi. I've recently seen a 1979 3dr R5 auto for sale near me here in France, with just 47,000 km on clock. From the photos, it looks to be in very good condition, wearing it's original ardoise blue paintwork with vinyl roof.
I've read about the rust issues on the Mk1 R5 on this forum, but wondered if there was anything in particular I should look for when considering an automatic. Any advice very welcome.
Mk1 R5 autos are fairly rare here (esp. in good, original condition) and prices vary: I've seen some at 5,000 euros or 6,000 euros (restored condition), 2,000 euros to 4,000 euros for very good, original condition) and 800 euros to 1,500 euros for the tatty examples (with or without CT). This one is for sale at 2,500 euros, which seems about right.
