Hi all
I have to change the rear axle mounting (outer ) if that makes sense. Is there much to it or should I send it to the garage ?

Hi, It depents on how bad the box section they bolt onto is eaten away by the steelworm. You'll have to undo the whole back axle. 12 bolts on al the mounts. The brakelines have to be disconnected.
If you have a GTL you'll have to undo the handbrake cables. And both the shock absorbers have to be undone.
It can be done but if you don't have the tools and patience. You might as well have it done by your garage and hand over a lot of euro's.

Hi I'd definitely let the garage take care of it ,if you need new shockers on the back ,might be an idea to get them done as well

it's a 2 man job ! I have just changed mine and the biggest problem was re-locating the bolts that go thru the chassis, I had to file off a spare bolt to a point for it to re-locate the axle to the chassis. Plus of course the brake pipes broke off ! good luck.
