As she had stood for 24 years the brake wheel cylinders had seized and the rubber components were past there best.

I managed to track down some new wheel cylinders from a garage in Bedfordshire so had them sent by courier overnight.

By cross referencing part numbers I tracked down new brake hoses locally.

As you know it is not a straight forward job to fit new wheel cylinders like it is on a Morris Minor for example.

It was an opportunity to examine the front bearings at the same time.

With everything reffitted and the system bled of any air the brakes work very well.

The car was driven out of the workshop and now stops on its own.

I do not hang about with my projects. I like to get them up and running, cleaned and ready to use.

Today I am working on a Renault Dauphine that was also barn stored for a very long time..

They just keep coming!
Totally amazing and beautiful
So lucky find!

I'm a bit confused was the R4 Super found in uk or France?
Would be lovely to restore sympathetically retaining all that delightful patina

:hug:I also notice you are only in Cambridge! I'm often that way. Would love to come and have a look sometime
