Renault 5 engine

hi just start the engine for the first time in I believe 12 years ! Work need still and I wondered if I could fit a r5 1.2 engine in easily enough ,any advice would be gratefully received

Do you mean an 1100 from a mk1 R5 which is basically the same engine. Otherwise if you are thinking the 1.2 from the SuperFive then whilst it is possible it isn't easy by any means.

Sorry I was looking at a r5 1397 engine that's on e bay right now and wondering if that could fit the seller says it s basically the same engine but bigger thanks

You need the engine code in order to know if you're talking of the right engine... the wikipedia "cleon" page is really nice and clear.
