Hi

I am new on the scene

I have a question maybe already 1000x ask

What is the easiest way to get a couple more HP out of this engine , I do not want to swap the engine or gearbox, Carb? manifold? or ??

i am not looking for 20 hp but 5-10 would be nice

kind regards
alex

Thinkit already has a 32 carb, given the age...
I have a 845 f4 fitted with a zenith 28 (I swapped for a 28 dell'orto cause the original was worn out) and even if it has good elasticity it suffers from uphills... but is still very funny to drive.
Are you sure you have the riht gearbox? Could have been swapped during the car's life with a berline one that has longer ratios...

Before you spend any money first check accelerator cable reaches full open positions when pedal pressed to floor
2ndly these engines will lose power if valve clearances not correct
3rd dwell angle on points gap needs checking stable over rev range
Check distributor vacuum and mechanical advance working
Finally expect to set timing using a base reference with marker pen on distributor position
It will take experimentation to decide optimum setting advanced sufficient to gain performance without pinking in 4th gear low speed aceleration
I have had cars turn up and owners drive off amazed at difference
