Hi
Very new to all this, had an F6 in 1992, bought another recently. Oh how cars have moved on!
The window locks are missing - I have replacements which need to be gules to the glass - any suggestions at to which type of glue to use?
Thank
Andy

I'd take it to someone like Autoglass. They have unbelievably strong glues which they use to re-affix interior mirrors to the windscreen. Much stronger than anything you can buy in a shop. They also know how to prepare the glass properly.

Hi Andy, welcome to the forum. Nice to know there is another R4 down here in the West Country. I used a product made by Loctite, for refitting the interior mirror on my car. It's a two part product, glue and an activator gauze, really easy to use and it's works. It should be ideal for the window catches. The part number is AA319, available on eBay of course.

Regards Brian

I'd still try Autoglass (or any other windscreen repair specialist) for preference. Fixing a mirror on a windscreen is a one-off action, and you may never have to touch it again. With a window you are exerting considerable force on the catch along both "x" and "y" axes every time you open and close it. You need the strongest possible fixing.

I tried Loctite for my mirror, and while I admittedly may not have cleaned the glass adequately before fixing, the repair failed after a couple of months. Then I tried Autoglass and the mirror is still in place five years later.
