    Harbourseal's visit.

Finally, Here is my answer. Yes, I had a super good time in the West Country. I got to see Cornwall from above the water this time. 21 years ago I visited Falmouth ad the Lizard for a diving holiday. And gotten to know the Brits as a very hospitable lot. Thank you for your hospitality...

    Renault 4 Lift Pump

I have one laying around. Can send it to the UK. It was used on my R5 956cc engine. Pushrod type like yours. Bought it new and used it for about 20000 km until I started the Vagabond project and had no need for the R5 engine anymore. The engine had two shot cilinders. So I stripped it for parts

    Deauville spaghetti manifold for sale

Hello all, I have the spaghetti manifold for sale because it won‘t fit my left hand drive F6 For a righthand drive British R4 it won’t be a problem to fit it. Because the steering rod won‘t be rubbing against it. So up for grabs now. It comes with a aluminum inlet manifold for a 32mm...

    R4 - shudders/jumps and now won't start

That might be a problem with false air. There is air coming in to the fuel system. Causing e very lean mixture. That you have to use the choke to cut the air suply to the mixture says something. Check al the hoses that run from the manifold and the rocker cover to the carburettor. are they...

    F6 Won't Start

Have you checked the ground lead (-) that runs from your battery to somewhere on the car? Most of the time it is connected to the gearbox. If it is a loose connection there or a little corroded the current is not coming through.

Renault 18 engine conversion to fit a Renault 4

The early F6 had a 1108 with a lower compression. And the gearbox has a higher ratio then the gtl so it runs at higher revs to maintain speed an cope with heavy loads. Sixty is about as fast as you can go with this brick. A 1400 from a Renault 18 or a Volvo B14 engine make quite a difference...

Renault 18 engine conversion to fit a Renault 4

It all depends on the engine and the gearbox. Maybe somebody put in a gtl engine and gearbox. And a F6 is of course a brick. With the aerodynamics of a brick.

Renault 18 engine conversion to fit a Renault 4

It’s been a while since I’ve put any updates in this topic. the engine is up and running. It made it’s first 300km on the road and highway. I’m quite happy with it’s performance. It makes the vagabond F6 a nippy car. acceleration is quite a bit better then the 1108 Cleon and overtaking is a...

    Vagabund

A bit of an update. I did my first highway run today. All went quite well until I eased off the throttle. I heard a whining noise coming from the gearbox. Upon pressing in the clutch the whining stopped. It was only in third and fourth gear. I turned of the highway and returned home at a slower...

Unfortunately the Dutch tax authorities are doing a catch 22 trick now. I can’t drive until Clementine has had a check with the Dutch road authority on this build. Long live bureaucracy.

Clementine passed her MOT with flying colors The new MOT inspector happened to be a colleagues boyfriend. He did his first Renault 4. He was quite impressed. And he could do his second one after Clementine. Andrej brought his F4 Sinpar for MOT as well. It passed too.
