I've managed to pick up a Haynes to 1986.

My R4 is in fact an 87, but will there be much difference?

Thx

Depends on the specification of your particular car. What engine has it got, for example?

I can't check , the car has been marooned in France since Lockdown #1

1108 as I recall. A size I think was fitted as early as 1978?

I don't want the manual to do engine stuff really, more as a guide to working on running gear - steering, brakes, suspension etc

As it's a police car it doesn't have any badges, but I think police cars were usually GTL

The 'up to 1986' Haynes manual is the latest one they made, and does cover the 1108cc engine. So you should be fine.

Yes I see you are both right! Well in that case for £2.00 + £3 p and p I have a bargain.

I have lost my carte grise (log book) and some vagary of the French system means I cannot be issued a duplicate without a current CT (MOT) so if and when I get back to France I suspect the car will want a bit of work to get that MOT. The brake cylinders always rust in place when it's left for a while and various other things will need looking at.

The thing is of course I don't keep my car tools in France but here :-(
