In a couple of weeks when my exams are finished I'm gonna start restoring my R4. I'm planning on going all the way, as i've go no time limit and I want to learn everything in once. At the moment I've got a garage and regular tools. Are there any specific tools and such I will need along the way? As far as manuals go, I supose the haynes manual on ebay is the best shout?

thanks

The Haynes manual is as good as you are going to get - just use some common sense as they don't get everything quite right. Make sure you buy the correct one for your car as the later editions have the supplement for the 1100 GTL. Don't be tempted to buy the manual on disc - they come up on ebay every now and again but the information is not very good.

Good luck with your restoration

These Peter Russek books are very basic. I would suggest you got the Haynes with the 1100 supplement and then you will have the best of both worlds for your TL. If you can't get a second-hand one, go to Haynes website and buy the reprint.
