R4 R1129 Clutch kit for sale

A NOS clutch kit for the R4 type R1129. I’ve looked on the Forum and there seems to be little information about this version. From what I can see from Parts Book PR 1005, the R1129 was an early 1108cc machine, similar to the R1128 which later became the familiar R4 GTL. It was only produced from 1976 to 1978, left hand drive, and was available in a single Renault market area — 568, which was Colombia. Looking at the parts diagrams there seem to have been some minor differences in detail between the R1129 and R1128, notably a different design of air intake and different dimensions to various engine components. Externally the R1129 resembled the R4 845cc with chrome trim rather than plastic kick-panels as on the GTL. At least 10,000 R1129s were made.

The car seems to have been the ‘dry run’ for the R1128, as the latter commenced production in the year that the R1129 was discontinued. The R1128 engine, although similar to the R1129, was given slightly beefed-up engine components so possibly the R1129 was found to have durability issues.

This clutch kit came from a UK Renault garage close-down sale and had presumably been ordered in error. PR 1005 page 30.01.1 confirms that the part number matches R1129 only. It might possibly fit the R1128 (GTL) but that cannot be guaranteed. It is in unused condition. GBP £20.00 plus delivery. NB. It is heavy so postage to Bogotá might be expensive!

This will be for the very earliest version of the 1108 and 9 5 6 engines it is 160mm the same as the 850 but because the engine runs in the opposite direction on the five bearing crank versions the pressure plate straps attached the opposite way round and I would imagine you would have more lock advertising it as a a pre 1976 Renault 5TL l and Renault 6TL
