Hello there- first posting.
I've bought a 1983 R4F6, and I want to take it to someone who knows them well to appraise what might need attending to,
and talk about existing problems.
Anyone spring to mind?

Oh- what fuel additive should I be using?

Thanks

Blake

Hi there welcome to the forum….
I too have an F6 and live in the North West of England.
Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be that many “specialists” up north but the forum is a great place for advice.
Have you got a picture of your F6?
Is it RHD or LHD?
Cheers Mike.

Hi Mike- she's a RHD,. supposedly 'done up' a few years ago,
but I wanted someone with real experience to look for chassis problems maybe, and to advise on the awkward clutch
pedal action - constant gear changes very tiring in traffic.
What fuel additive do you use? Can I get some from Halfords?
Maybe this van is known to the forum already....

I haven’t had mine that long so have only put a few gallons of unleaded in it without adding anything.
Looks like a nice van and not a bad price for a RHD F6 (I saw it on EBay)
If you’re handy with the spanner’s there is plenty of good advice on here.
It maybe worth buying a “practical classic’s” magazine & look at the small adds for classic car restoration around your area?

Oh right- thanks for that.
I'll look for a supplier!

I wanted someone to try the clutch who knows what they are normally like so I'll know whether to fix something
or just put up with it...

There used to be a garage at Great Horwood who were excellent. Sadly owner died aand they have been shut down since.
Most garages around MK do not want to know at all.
Sadly Paul Cunningham is not on the doorstep!!

We ought to all have a mini meet at a pub for lunch when I've finished the van. I'm only 45 minutes away from MK.

Happy to assess the clutch and look at chassis if you want to drop in for coffee.

That was rebuilt by Renault Reborn a few years back, think they used it as their own van for a while although its changed hands a couple of times since I think? They are in Lincolnshire somewhere so not that far away?

I use Millers VSP in my F6 as well as Esso E5 (which is allegedly E0) as it really, really doesn't run well on E10.

There is Paul Cunningham on this forum who does R4,s at his garage near Worthing.
