Rocker cover breather tubes to carb & inlet manifold. To disconnect or not to disconnect?

I’ve read various posts on the general subject of these tubes and the need for a restricting orifice in the one connected to the inlet manifold etc.
I’m about to fit a new carb, so emission/pollution control aspects aside, my question is could it be beneficial to disconnect both tubes, isolate the inlets on carb and manifold, and re-route them to a catch can arrangement?
