Unidentified Grommet

Hi All

Can anyone identify the rubber grommet in the attached photo? I found it loose in my GTL, it's been used but is in good condition. It looks like a dashboard item, but I can see nothing missing or out of place. It is about 140mm long and is angled.

Looks like the grommet that fits on speedo cable.

That makes sense. I know the previous owner tried to change the speedo cable but ordered the wrong one (too short). He must have taken the grommet out. I got the correct cable from Der Franzose which came with a new grommet (different, but perfectly adequate).

for speedo-wire throught bulk-head/firewall... sitting on front of bulk-head drooping down so water won't enter along it inside car.
