Waterpump leak

I fitted a new pump before Christmas but noticed today its weeping from the bottom of the pump, should there need to be a gasket between the pump and block? I've nipped the bolts up but didn't want to over tighten them.
Any ideas

Yes, there should be a gasket between the pump and the head - see photo.
Or:
