    Rear light connectors?

Nothing more is needed! You push the curved metal strip from its wide end to make it pass through the rectangular slot. Then you insert the bare cable end between this strip and the rectangular part. Now when you leave the strip free, it will catch the cable end because it's springy. Done!

    Fuel additive

Note that you can't measure CO value at full load on an MOT gas analyser, this one measures idle CO or low load CO value. Ideally, you need an AFR meter and check the reading on the highway. Malcolm, you couldn't be more right! Ethanol added to modern petrol makes the "known" stoichiometric...

    Yellow headlight lenses

The "classic French look" was yellow bulbs only. From a certain viewing angle, this makes the lens look yellow, but it was always clear.

    Vacuum advance gear inside distributer

The vacuum advance unit has a spring at the atmosphere side of the diaphragm, so that advance build up is gradual with increasing vacuum. Total amount of advance is relative to travel of the actuating rod of the unit. What the cam does is to add or remove preload to this spring. Less preload (1...

    Renault 6 Steering rack query

R4/R5/R6 steering racks have a rod diameter of 20mm, and outer bush diameter of 30mm. Renault 12 and 16 steering racks have an identical looking bush that is 2mm larger in diameter, both inside and outside. We had discussed it here earlier, it seems that large diameter steering rack bush kits...

    Zenith 321F7 carb.

Are you sure you are looking at the right point for the mixture screw? On the 32IF7 it's at the front of the carburettor mounting flange / butterfly housing. And it's fully recessed in its hole, there is no screw head visible.

Front O/S torsion bar adjustment. Update !

Two more thoughts: Rear ride heights. If one side has been set considerably higher than the other, it will push the opposite front corner lower. A quick way to check this is to lift the front of the car by placing a trolley jack exactly in the middle of the tubular crossmember. The idea is to...

    R4 F4 Front brakes

The hole should be on the brake drum, not the backplate. If it's there, position the drum so that the hole is at roughly 9 o'clock for the left side wheel, and 3 o'clock for the right wheel. Insert a flat blade screwdriver with a diameter of 4mm in the hole, push it as far as it will go, and...

Front O/S torsion bar adjustment. Update !

Putting a 17mm torsion bar at one side and keeping the 16,5mm one at the other will mess settings badly... I just had a thought. If you are using a pipe as a lever, you may well push the bar sideways rather than apply torsion to it. Have a look at Renault's tool to overcome this, I'm sure...
