Bonnet rubbers not doing anything ?

Well, I am still learning about R4's again after 37 years ! And I noticed today that the two round rubbers under the bonnet don't make any contact with anything ? So I guess the support brackets are missing ? And I guess the hole on each side must mean something. Any comments would be welcome. Thanks.

Apparently these rubber stops are redundant. Renault did some strange things !

The hole each side is for the wiring loom feed to the wing mounted indicator if fitted, 1st time I have seen those rubber stops fitted to the bonnet, so maybe a previous owner had a better idea than the factory,
