How to remove rust chemically?

I put the power of two light wells to remove rust on a Volvo PV. I have also tryed it on a R4.
First I put plus from a charger to a zinc plate and plus the light well. After an hour I turned the power, that is minus the zinc plate and plus the light well. It stood for two hours and then dissolved the rust up and the surface was slightly galvanized. The water in the bucket, I had a little phosphoric acid, water and some salt.

I used 12 volt an ca. 1 ampere...
It was quite effective, but the blast finally gave great results ready for primer and paint!
It was an experiment, but it was fun!
See link possible use Google Translate to get the language from Norwegian to English, or another ...

Yes, that's effectively turning the rustingprocess around! Reductor-oxidator chemical process (Redox), cool!

Very interesting!

P.S. I always have a soft spot for PVs, I was lucky enough to do a nut-and-bolt restoration some years ago on one of the very few survivors over here.
