Head Gasket

Megane Scenic Auto 1600 98

Have had the gasket repaired, skimmed etc recently. Have to take it back next week to get the tappets adjusted. My questions are

The car is starting badly
Very low power when pulling away
cuts out now and again

Is this normal until everyhthing settles in or does ity need looking at

no its not normal, could have an air leak on a vacuum pipe to MAP sensor, timing belt could be a tooth out which would account for low power, or another fault on engine if its been overheated. But generally its a strong engine and a head skim & gasket usually sorts it. If they cant find an air leak or other fault ask them to recheck the cam-belt timing after they refitted it.
