Headlamp adjustment

I've installed shiny new headlamps and used Clementine's method of cutting a notch to convert from LHD to RHD. However, I found aligning the headlamps tricky.

Has anyone got any tips for aligning them, or do folk usually get headlamps adjusted at a garage (who apparently have special devices for aligning headlights)?

Hi there. I think that most of us roughly align our headlamps on a wall or garage door and then pay a visit to the MOT station and let the experts adjust them properly on their aligning equipment.

...or being thrifty, I would align them on the garage door and then take the car out at night and see how good they were and if others flashed me. Make adjustments the next day as necessary. When it comes to MOT time if the lights are a little out many MOT stations will do it for free.
