have been offered what looks like an R3 but I understand r3 production stopped in the 60's or 70's and this car is a lot later and has a 1108cc motor, anyone have info ??

Its not a 3.
Many cars were made without the rear pillar window, which is what makes them look like a 3.
In fact I have an early 1963 4 in that basic spec.
Still might be worth having though?

Only about 2500 R3s were made, all with 602cc engines, and they disappear from the Parts Book in the mid 1960s. Anything else will be a "commercial look" R4. Peugeot did the same at one time : you can get P106's with no rear side-windows (possibly some means of getting round car tax?).
