does anyone know how i release the handbrake when changing the rear pads on laguna 1.9 dci 55plate.

Handbrake
Not positive on the Laguna but you need a special tool on most of these calliper handbrakes, they are available on ebay where mine came from. Then you screw the piston back into the calliper so you can get the new pads in. When done you just operate the handbrake a few times to take up the adjustment.

Well either that worked or muckermike1 doesn't need the info nice to feel appreciated!!!
If you are asking about the auto hand brake,
When you stop the car press middle of the handbrake control on the dashboard (where the red light is)then pull the outer lever at the same time
the red light should flash and the handbrake should stay of.
The handbrake will stay of until you pull the lever again
Change the pads by winding pistons back ,pump the brake pedal then pull the handbrake .
