Strong smell of petrol due to fuel tank breather pipe split.

I was working on 'Noddy' today replacing his rear wheel bearings and brakes, and could smell petrol.
On investigation I noticed that the rubber fuel tank breather pipe under the rear wing was split. It's an unusual pipe with
different sizes at each end. And not available new, so I made a pipe myself.
