tappet adjustment

Hi,
i have the 1988 1008 gtl

i need to set up the tappets, haven't looked under the rocker cover yet to see if they are adjustable or hydrolic.

have searched the net for the feeler gauge settings but can't find any info, can any one advice what the settings are?
I have a haynes manual on my wish list but can't afford it yet and want to make a start.

Hi there, I think you have a 1108cc engine, not a 1008cc. According to the Haynes manual the settings are :- inlet 0.15mm (0.006 in) exhaust 0,20mm (0.008 in). These are the settings with the engine cold. They are very easy to adjust. Hope this helps you. Brian
