My lovely Renault 4 (1984) has just failed its Mot ...... needs lots of welding, and I might just have to let it go. One estimate is £800- 1000 and thats not even guaranteed. I had it repaired last year after an accident for over £1000 and not sure if it's worth it this time. Any thoughts??

If your beloved R4 came on the market newly welded and newly MoT'd and presumably good for another few years and the price was £1,000 would you buy it?

yes, and I' ve decided to get a second opinion. The rust is on the driver's side front floor and centre.....

Try Derek at Renospeed for a quote. £800-1000 sounds like a lot of money. If the rust was that bad then you would have received an advisory note at the last MOT so I can't imagine that it would have deteriorated so much in 12 months.
