Having spent a long time underneath her it was great to see on the ramp at the MOT station just an hour ago. Passed the MOT with no advisories, well pleased.
Briefly the 'Holy Ghost' is a 1987 RHD R4 GTL. Originaly from Guernsey, I bought her from the original owner and looking pretty sad and unloved after sitting covered in moss under trees for a few years. Worst part was the front chassis member and front cross member which had disintigrated, through this great forum managed to find NOS front chassis rail halves and rest from Der Franzose. Mechanical work was usual mainly sourced from eBay. Ball Joints, Rubbers, Exhaust, Brake pipes and cylinders etc all fully overhauled. Paintwork is all original and seats as new, she had left original seat covers on from new. Had no mod's not even fitted a radio.
However today was the first time I had ever driven a R4 and must say loved it and now goi ng into its first show this weekend.
