Hi, I am running a Hudson with a Renault 1108 engine. It is fitted with a Zenith carb and runs ok if a little flat in the mid range. My question is what carb is best for these engines? I see some cars had the Solex fitted so is there much difference in how they run and perform?
Any help gratefully received.
Cheers, Rob

Solex carburettors have a slight advantage of easier to find parts like jets, float needles etc. They however have a tendency to warp at the mounting flange easily, this is something I have noticed on other cars equipped with Solex carburettors., too.
Performance wise there is no noticeable difference between a Zenith and a Solex carb provided jetting is correct, of course.

Hi angel, thanks for the information. I guess the Solex could be refaced if warped?
There seams to be several versions so will do some research into which is the best option.
Cheers, Rob

Another possibility?
