Drum roll please! ... Or does a 228 mm drum fit on an 180 mm car if the correct shoes are used?

As the title says:
Is this possible as a direct swap? I ordered 228 mm drums by mistake and if its bolt on on my 180 mm hub and I just need appropriate shoes, I will keep the bigger setup.

Cheers!

Love me some Franzose packages!

You should probably have 200mm drums. You can fit 228mm ones, but you must change the following parts:
Brake shoes and backplates (obviously)
Handbrake cables - you may be able to use your existing ones, but correct cables have longer inner cables.
Stub axle carriers and hubs are the same, as are brake hoses and wheel cylinders, provided you have already "long" (72mm) wheel cylinders fitted.

Is this a new Renault 5? It won't haul enough R4 parts, I think! :-D
