Yellow headlamp bulbs - VERY French!

As well as the standard 40/45w yellow bulbs, I also have 55/60w yellow halogens on my website, if anyone's interested.

Do you want to put it in the for sale section of my website Paul? (Free of course).

    Rear windows for R4

Jeff & Chris Graphics would probably do you a set if you give them the details & photos. They do all the graphics for 2CVs and a lot more.

    Getting Historical Data

If the original UK registration number was MHW536F (01/08/1967>31/07/1968) then the "_HW____" indicates that it was issued by the Bristol office, so the car was probably supplied by a dealer in the Bristol area.

    Renault 4s currently on eBay

Classic car prices have rocketed in France, so maybe that's why LHD are more (?)

Wow! That's about twice the price that I've paid for 6v 2CV batteries.

    1960s roof rack wanted

Ok. Why do you need an excuse! It's unlikely that I'll go to the Bromley Pageant.

    1960s roof rack wanted

Do you still want my roof rack Paul? Would you still like me to keep it by for you (for another two or three more weeks?), or can I offer it to Chris?

    1960s roof rack wanted

Wouldn't you rather see it and make sure it will fit (or it can be adapted to fit) first? As I said, I don't know what car it came from. I'm happy to put it aside for you for a couple of months if necessary and you can pay me when you see it, (if you like it).......and I'll make you a cuppa as well!

    1960s roof rack wanted

I have this one Paul. I've no idea what car it came from. It needs a bit tidying/fettling. Yours for £45. (I'm in Worthing).

    What the mailman brought....

The first one is for straightening radiator cooling fins. The last one is an oil filter removal tool.

    Headlight springs and jobsworths.?

Personally, after sorting the clip issue, assuming that the beam pattern IS correct, I would take it for the (free within 2 weeks?) retest at the same place. If he fails it on the speedo, I would ask him if he has a VT17 form, (Appeal form).

    Headlights. and sidelights/indicators

Take the bulb out and look at the what the sliding plastic piece does and you will understand why you can't move it when the bulb is fitted: It moves side to side within a wider gap. Depending on which way you slide it, it leaves enough room for the locating lug on the bulb on one side or the...

    Headlights. and sidelights/indicators

It sounds like your bulbs are not located correctly. There is a small protruding part on the circumference of the bulb base which locates into a small slot in your headlight unit. The 3 electrical terminals (which I think you mean by "prongs") should not be sitting symmetrically: when properly...

    Headlights

A bit more info and clarification on P43t, P45t & yellow covers: P43t and P45t refer to the base only and have nothing to do with the shape of the glass or whether the bulbs are halogen/tungsten/etc. P43t is the 3-prong base (see Andrew's description above). (Not to be confused with BA21d...

    Headlights

Not quite. The 55/60w yellow halogens seem to be a little brighter than standard 40/45w tungsten bulbs. (I say "seem to be" because I have no way of measuring the light output! and can only go by the apparent small improvement that I have experienced and the feedback from my customers).
