    Where are you?

Perhaps the guy in the corner knows, it appears he travelled here all the way from Croatia!

Free? Abandoned R4 Savanne for a brave man

    But has anyone collected it?

Warning to all replacing rear shocks!!!

I never thought of that but I wonder whether that's also a problem for the cast iron swingarms. Mine has the dampers attached differently.

What have I done! (R4 GTL)

Nice! A shiny chassis is always a very easy to the eyes ;).

    1988 R4 F4 restoration made in France

If that rust is local, then it's a good idea to use that stuff. If the car has more of that corrosion, I'd advice you to use a fillerprimer, or whatever it's called in English. In Dutch we call it "schuurprimer"... means as much as a "sandingprimer" or even "spuitplamuur" which translates as...

    1988 R4 F4 restoration made in France

If you use a 2-pack mastic, make sure you don't use too much hardener and that you don't put on too thick coates at once. Use about 1-2% hardener (if I'm right, check on the package) and if you have to make a thick coat, put it on in several smaller layers.

    Gearbox Inside

Aaah, haha ok, I misunderstood what you mean then ;). But that's quite interresting! I understand what you mean. I do understand German too (I am Dutch by the way) so that would be an awesome thing to have if you'd be willing to send it to me! I'll send you a personal message with my e-mail...

    Gearbox Inside

Yeah, I see what you mean, but I'm not one of those guys who cannot set his own ignition really. I think I can do it even though I have no experience with gearboxes, there's a moment of learning something new for everything right? I took it apart and it doesn't really scare me, what could be...

    Gearbox Inside

Thanks, but as I said: I used the Kluwer, which is a translated version of the Haynes, if I'm to believe my sources. The Kluwer tells me how to take the gearbox apart but doesn't say anything about how to check everything. I was hoping it would tell me that but apparently it's quite a lousy...

    Gearbox Inside

It's extremely hard to find any information about how to overhaul the gearbox, which parts need replacement that is, so if anyone knows anything, please share your knowledge! Thanks in advance

Restoring my 1988 R4 GTL in BiH

I'm sorry if it seemed like I argued about taste, I just thought GTL bumpers were mat grey originally but correct me if I'm wrong. And yes, I like mat better.

Restoring my 1988 R4 GTL in BiH

The bumpers are kind of a funny colour and it's hard to discern what the colour is like exactly. I had my local paintshop modify a white primer; they mixed in a little black (and maybe something else too but I can't remember) and it became a really good colour. So maybe go to the paintshop with...

    Gearbox Inside

Wouldn't know, it indeed seems torn and worn. I will have a look at mine when I get back to it. As for me, I've got a question too and would be delighted to have it answered: I am currently overhauling a gearbox to replace the one that's currently in my car because it started working a...

Restoring my 1988 R4 GTL in BiH

Euh, I'm sorry! I confused you with a Dutch fellow-forum-member who also posts on this messageboard (nickname) Jeffr4. So what I really said was: Beautiful! With a big exclamationmark. Really nice colour!

    R4 vandalised

It's really unbelievable people do such bullshit. But for the rearwings, they are pretty easy to come by here in the Netherlands.

    More Snow

Mine is under a blanket in the garage ;). We've got lots of brine on the road and I didn't really fancy my car covered in that.

    R4 vandalised

Really sad to see that indeed! But the damage is hardly worth the burden of your considerations. The car looks like it's in good shape so buy a new rear wing, the old one should come off pretty easily, buy yourself some new doors and fix it! Make sure you do the fixing right (like a nice neat...
