Front right hand torsion bar has sagged over the years. No need to replace it, just to reset the ride height, preferably at both front wheels.

There is no practical solution other than to replace it. It can be replaced individually but is rather hard to find.

845cc engines have M18x1.5 thread plugs. Coincidentally, it's the same thread size used on oxygen sensors, and there are always shouldered plugs available at exhaust shops. Both gearbox plugs are tapered and seal by interference fit of their threads. There is no machined boss on the gearbox, so...

It will not work with an LED lamp, these systems need a filament bulb to allow the excitation current to pass through it. It may work by keeping your existing "warning" lamp in the engine compartment and connecting the LED lamp in parallel, red terminal to wire coming from the car (switched +).

Brake fittings are the only components on a Renault 4 with an Imperial thread, too.

Either buy a good quality - and expensive - flaring tool, or try to find a secondhand brake pipe. Cheap flaring tools are a waste of time and money. Also, it's best to use copper-nickel (Kunifer) brake pipe as opposed to copper.

It seems that the torsion bars have been unequally set in the past. It's not easy to judge if it's the front or the rear ones, but it may help measuring the ride heights as per the manual after having removed the front anti roll bar, so that it's not "trying" to hold the vehicle level. It's my 1975 R4 with the single speed wiper motor. Wipers on such systems always park on driver's side. After 1977 when they changed to two-speed motor and longer blades, they parked diagonally on passenger's side. (Wipers worked really hard one day before I shot this photo!)

Altering its length has an effect on castor angle.

Early suspension arms will also fit late chassis without having to drill holes. At least that was the case with a 1979 chassis that I fitted 1972 suspension on.

The pulley backplate is an interference fit on the shaft and not meant to be removed / reinstalled. It can be done in a press with suitable supprts but you may run into other problems like different shaft diameters etc. It's better to find another suitable water pump.

Are you testing ignition coil primary circuit resistance with terminals removed? If yes, and if resistance is that high, the coil is faulty. Normal primary resistance is around 3 Ohms.
