What are those black circular discs stacked in there ? Circular memory cards, who'd of thought !

    Tuning the R4

Don't forget the vacuum advance unit screwed to the dizzy - rubber diaphragm that leaks, introducing random air into the carb and not changing timing when needed.

Listening to Mozart: K.626 Amen (Fugue). Amazing - a huge swirling choral song made of one word, repeated. An exercise in brilliance. Wasn't Lacrimosa (K.626 again) the theme for Catwoman in one of the Batman movies? Meoww

Nearest thing to a 'modern' 4 F4/F6 I reckon. Almost bought one, then tripped up and bought a Reliant Scimitar GTE instead :drunk:

    Colour match bordeaux rouge

Should be able to get it made up in aerosol cans too - colour to match by eye or colour code.

What have I done! (R4 GTL)

I remember I think that the length needed to be 190mm to get enough plain bolt inside the wishbone, although the thread then needs trimming a bit.

Check the Twingo rear drums - seized auto-adjusters are like satan; braking can be improved incredibly with a service and make sure the shoes are set correctly to start with  Horrid job but lovely feel once set right. PS does that have a (secretly leaking) sunroof?

What have I done! (R4 GTL)

I found them not available as a normal part (maybe through Renault though?), so I bought a hex-head high-tensile bolt of M12 x 190mm 8.8 grade; I can't remember if I needed to cut a little off to fit in from the end (think I did) - don't forget suitable matching nyloc nut, as the thread was...

....... but your vehicle still needs to road-worthy (safe) whether or not the MOT has been extended :waving:

What have I done! (R4 GTL)

I had a knocking sound from the right side and found a small amount of play in the upper wishbone bolt - where it mounts to the chassis. New bolt helps.

What have I done! (R4 GTL)

Nice attention to detail and well done for keeping existing bulb-holder in use, not in the bin!

    MOT Holiday

Seems like some MOT garages have reduced staff or shut down altogether so possibly won't be easy to MOT now anyway. Just did re-MOT on my camper at U-drive this morning and overheard that a nearby U-drive MOT branch was shutting today, and their own staff had halved since last week.
