    Italian Renault 4 Festival 2025.

Hello Martin, I can recommend this event. I've been to the last two, and on both occasions it was a great experience, and to be made so welcome by Italian R4 enthusiasts was wonderful. I hope you and other R4 enthusiasts take up the challenge of driving to Chianti Country. You won't regret it...

    Who can rebuild engine?

This company sounds ideal, it won't be cheap I'm sure, but they look very professional, and it should come with a guarantee I would say. Plus you should get their advice regarding running in your engine. JdeW you are right, R4s were indeed assembled in Wexford from the early 70s right through to...

    Who can rebuild engine?

One thing is pretty sure, you're not going to find a new engine. If you buy a supposedly rebuilt one you can't be certain its been done to the correct standard, causing you more aggro down the line. I would say your best course of action is to get your engine rebuilt by a reputable engine...

My First Renault 4 - External Combustion Engine

I'm glad to hear you got it all sorted in the end Harry, and happy I was able to help with the recovery to Devon. This is the extinguisher in my car, which I've mounted on the chassis cross member under the passenger seat for easy access. I've a second smaller one as backup in the passenger...

    Oil Filters

Check out Autodoc website Simon, loads to choose from, and keen prices. I think your car is post 84, so you will need one stamped M20 x 1.5mm. Best to check before you order.

Hello gang. Here's the latest goody I've fitted to Geneveive, a beautiful Cornett sun visor. Bought from De Marco Parts. A nice addition I think.

Little bars on the front of the bumper?

They are handy for manuvering the car in the garage too, and they do give the headlights a bit of protection as well when some idiot in a road-going barge decides to reverse into your beloved 4.

    Just a quick engine swap?

Hello purpaboo, nice to hear from you. Thank you for the extra information about the R4. Yes she had an issue with the cooling system when I bought her from Nic in Jan 2017, but she took me to 4L International that year, and the South of France the following year after I replaced the radiator...

Drive shaft outer CV joint Rubber boot problem ?

I've had the self same problem. Some bottom steering joints are too long, and while it's fine when the car is on it's wheels, as soon as you jack it up the boot clip fouls the bottom arm. The problem arises when the car goes for its MOT. You must make sure the tester is aware of this and...

    Car history supplying dealer etc..

Interesting article, but I've just checked that Wicki site. Production started at a place called Naas in 1962, later it was transfered to Wexford in 1972, and it did indeed close in 1984. I stand corrected. Hope this clears that up. Kind regards Bry

    Car history supplying dealer etc..

Hi Q plate. If your car was originally supplied new in 1985, like my GTL, it was built in Wexford in Eire. An assembly line was first set up there in 1978, and shut in 1986 to cope with the high demand for RHD 4s at the time, both in Eire and the UK. Regards Bry
