I just had them soak in some (initially hot) dishwater for a few days, then i rubbed them with a sponge (the scrubbing kind). The corroded top layer kind of dissolved in the water, what was left were 4 new looking doorhandles. You might give that a try too!

Money, time and perseverance, those are the 3 essentials! But you're doing a few projects at the same time, that must make things even more hard right? Good luck! the TL certainly looks a lot better than when you bought it ;).

It's not a full restoration no, that's obvious, it's nothing like what for instance I am doing of what Malcolm did on the Gordini, but I admire how much work you do on the car in such little time, that's praiseworthy! Especially considering your work on your other cars as well! ;)

Hey all! I've been struggling with the engine the last couple of weeks, it wouldn't run properly, it ran on 2 cylinders I think. I still needed bumpers and been busy with exams. Anyway, a friend of mine and his dad came over and as magically they just played around with the engine a bit...

I already mentioned in another topic that on the Dutch forums there has already been word that the project is cancelled because the market was too small. Don't know if it's true though.

Well, since it says 2 posts above your post that it's sold, I guess it's not for sale anymore. And let me tell you that if you're looking for a Renault 4, you don't have to be looking at the mileage (and low mileage ones are almost non-existent anyway), their engines tend to run forever...

That's a nice tip! I'll try that, though I think a friend of mine who came by did that with WD40, although maybe not that extensively and I don't know either whether WD40 is quite flammable. I'll try!
