Birthday Girl Ermintrude all dressed up for a birthday party today.

Ian What you need is one of these modified R4s designed to float on rather than below the water. I believe this is one of a range of craft Renault were working on to relieve congestion. But as most of the French motorways are practically empty apart from during August this idea was shelved.

A gathering of Renaults. Along with the R4s were a Clio and a Kangoo. Clementine, Bluebell, Kangookris, Great Uncle Claude and Uncle John were among those enjoying the midwinter festival.

I tried to resist the clips that seemed to be too cruel to R4's. Although with any car that shade of pink it could be tempting.

A bit bored tonight so I did a search of Youtube for Renault 4 and came up with a few clips - they might while away a dark winter's evening. The first four are old Renault ads - the rest are mostly R4s being used and abused -it's amazing how many bits you can knock off them and they still keep...

Having talked to some motoring friends a couple of weeks ago the conclusion was that it was the fuel pump - it's a bit annoying but I think I'll live with it now as I'm not delving to the electrics. Chris

Difficult to describe a noise but it's not a white noise hiss more of a pulsing sound - I'll do a recording and add a link to a wave file. The interference isn't just limited to the in car radio, a portable radio (in the van) tuned to LW gets the same noise. I'll let you know when I've got a...
